Material & Surface Requirements
The internal bore must be extremely smooth, with minimal adsorption of biomolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids. This prevents analyte loss (falsely low results) and carryover between samples. The outer wall needs wear-resistant treatment too — plus low adsorption and easy cleaning. Chemically, the material must withstand acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. Corrosion or dissolution would contaminate the sample or inhibit the reaction. A tapered, thin-walled design helps empty the liquid completely, minimizing dead volume.

Piercing Probe Wear & Service Life
The piercing probe repeatedly pierces the rubber stopper of vacuum blood collection tubes, which wears on the needle. After too many punctures, the tip may lose its sharpness — or the aspiration orifice may deform. That's why piercing probes have a finite service life. They're consumables and must be replaced periodically. Extending probe life calls for a special wear-resistant coating. With a special alloy and a unique DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating, the probe is engineered for up to 100,000 punctures.

Accuracy, Liquid-Level Detection & Lot Consistency
Dispensed volume must match the nominal volume — the deviation has to be minimal. Even a small volume error shifts reaction concentrations. That's how false results creep in. Liquid-level detection is automatic. The tip never plunges too deep, never sucks air. Aspiration stays accurate. So does efficiency. Precision dimensions mean a stable, accurate fit in any automated analyzer — no wobbling, no misalignment. Every performance parameter must hold tight — within a lot, and across lots. That consistency is what makes results reliable and comparable.
